These apps are examples of Ai computer vision models running in your browser. This is made possible by a technology called Tensorflow.js. It was created by Google.

You can think of a model as an Ai brain. Because the model is running locally it means that:

  • Any images you submit remain on your pc or phone. Nothing is ever uploaded to an external server. In short, your data remains private.
  • Because nothing needs to be uploaded, the apps run fast even when processing multiple images.
  • Anyone with a web browser can use these apps. There‚Äôs no need to install any additional software.

How to use these tools

  • Select a tool and click on the image.
  • The web app will launch and the model will start to download. The first time you use an app the download may take about 2 minutes. Thereafter, the model will remain in your browser and will be availble instantly.
  • Submit an image.
  • The model will review the image and output a diagnosis as a level of confidence. For example, Pneumonia (Viral): 0.923574 means that the model is 92% sure that the chest x-ray you submitted shows Viral Pneumonia.
  • If an app supports batch processing it means that you can submit several images at the same time.
  • The F1 score indicates how well the model performed during testing - it's an indcator of the model's quality. But keep in mind that good test scores are no guarantee that a model will generalize well i.e. that it will perform well under real world conditions.
